goals out a little differently this year. I have included my goal and a description of how I am going to achieve this. I have also printed this out and put it up on my bulletin board at home so I can always see it.
1. Lose 50 pounds this year. This year I am going to achieve this. The main reason is, although I know I am “banging” I want to look more banging for when we go on holiday this year. The time has come. To achieve this I would like to lose 5-10 pounds per month.
My monthly goals include continue walking with my friend as often as we can, do the walking
workout DVD twice a week, do another two exercise programs twice a week (already booked time with a friend who is a personal trainer to help me with that) and learn about clean eating
2. Bring down my debts by 50%. To achieve this I need to stick to the budget and the amount of money allocated on it. So no changing that amount at all. If I continue with that
I should make this goal (perhaps even bringing down that even more)
3. Have a great time in New Orleans in April and not be in debt by it. We have already paid for our plane ticket and car parking fees for park n fly and we are currently saving for the
spending money. Again if we stick to the budget we will have more than enough. The credit will only be brought with us and used in an emergency
4. Have a great time in Miami in July and not be in debt by it. Pretty much the same here as above. We haven’t got plane tickets yet but the cruise will be paid off by the time we leave for it. We know how much plane tickets will be roughly, and need to budget in the
rest and save. I don’t want to use the cards or dip into our savings for this.
5. Really sort out the storage locker downstairs. And when I mean sort out I not just pack them so I can fit more crap in there I mean really sort it out and get rid of whatever I don’t need. I have really no idea what is in there, and I am sure the BF doesn’t either. As we are planning on moving next year back home it would good now to start planning on what we want
to take. And get rid of the rest.
6. Save money for moving fees and the BF’s visa application fees. Currently putting $400.00 a month away but will need to look into costs and whether that will be enough and adjust accordingly.
7. Read more and less TV. I realized I watch way to much TV, computer, social media etc. I
really should not spend so much time in my off time in front of a computer or TV.. I do that all day in my regular job. Even if it means stop playing games at lunch time and read a book. I will have to still use all of it for my theater group and keeping in touch with friends etc etc but I should do what I need to then log off. Not just stay on for the sake of staying on.
8. Organize my life. If I can organize my life, everything from my home to my theater group, from my day to day activities to my work it might help keep my sane and
keep things helpful. Especially when I want to complete these goals
9. Stress less and avoid drama people. I think the first is pretty obvious which worked out great last year so I want to continue doing it. But avoiding drama based people is a new one. You know the people who always post negativity on facebook about how the world owes them
something and all they talk about it what everyone is doing badly. I understand bad days
and bad moments in life, hey it happens to everyone.. but if these people are constant negative all the time then I am not going to waste my energy on them.
So that’s it for now. I think it’s a pretty good start and things can be achieved. I am sure as the year progresses ill have more goals to be added to this list. But for now I know which direction I want to head in.
So what are your resolutions for 2014?
