Anyway as mentioned before I went away (to make it even more busy a week after my holiday my boss decided to go on holiday.. I was so busy at work and no I am playing catch up).. back to it.. I went back home to Australia to surprise my mother for her 60th birthday. nd to the credit of the rest of my immediately family they all managed to keep it a secret until the moment we arrived at the restaurant the night of her birthday with a bunch of flowers and a SURPRISE..
The restaurant manager was even in on it and helped with the initial surprise. It was fun and
I am glad we did it.
However having said that the airline we took down was one of the worst flights down (and eventually back) I have ever taken. I will never ever ever ever ever ever fly with that airline again. Yes we were saving about $1000 each between the two of us and it was a long flight
and I was prepared for that but everything else from leaking roofs to running out of food to having the screen not work.. never again
The only other downer was we decided to rent a car for the time we were down there. The BF thought he found a great deal on line with a rental place at the airport. We thought we would be paying for a car for $300 for the three weeks and then gas.. but unfortunately the BF failed to read the fine print. He failed to take into account insurance, taxes and that dam airport
fee.. so our $300 rental ended up costing about 900 for the three weeks. Oh well what can we do. Having the car was very handy. The other costly thing about the trip was I finally put in papers for divorce from my ex-husband (if you have been a long time reader I was once
married but never have been divorced.. yet) so that court date is coming up and finally I will be rid of Him..
Other than that we had a great time. Hang out with family, got to catch up with friends and just have a lazy vacation with the folks. I did unfortunately get sick with a cold half way through the trip which turned into bronchitis. So getting over the jet lag was a fun adventure in itself because I was always coughing at night.
But now I am back and looking to getting some of that trip and the other things we bought this summer paid off. Thanks to the car issue and the divorce filing we actually came in over budget (mainly because of the car) and had to dip into the credit card. Good thing we have no really travel plans until next year so we can save up and prepare for travelling and pay off some of those credit cards
