and no”. It’s been a while since I have used any coupons in my grocery shopping and its been a long while since I was a fanatic about it. I just don’t feel really that into it anymore.
Why you might ask (my colleague did) so here are the reasons why..
1. Not so many of them anymore. I am finding that in the last couple of months Coupons have actually been harder and harder to come across. I never seen them in the store anymore and very rarely do I see them in the papers in my building (I think someone In my building takes them). I just don’t see them much around. (anyone else seen this, or is it just me)
2. Not such a great deal. When I first started using coupons I found that there was great deal on items, but I am finding lately that the deals are not quite there anymore. I am not sure if the companies have clued in and not released high value coupons around sale times anymore but I just don’t see a great deal.
3. The coupons are not for what I want. Since the BF and I have made this lifestyle change and have eaten more healthy stuff we have tried to stay clear of processed/junk food and just stick to fresh as much as possible. Unfortunately all the coupons I do find these days are for stuff I don’t want to eat or I don’t use. AND I am not using a coupon and spending money on a product I simply won’t use.
4. I am too busy, or lazy, one of the two. These past couple of months have been really busy for me. In all aspects, life/work/play, everything. It seems like don’t have a lot of time these days to sit down and work out sales on stuff I want and pair with coupons etc etc.
The thing is, while talking to my colleague and writing down the points above I realized that I really do miss couponing. It was fun raising up to the challenge and trying to save the household some money. I had my good days and my bad days but generally I was pretty good at it.
So I think what I need to go is start getting back into it again. But just focus on coupons
I will really use, such as toiletries and laundry products. Stuff that I don’t eat. And
keep an eye out for coupons on the stuff that we do eat. Sometimes fresh food coupons are available. I just have to keep looking.
