So two major things happened over the past couple of weeks..
One.. started off by getting my assessment for the gym. And as one suspected.. im a fatty.. (but I am ok with that).. I had to weigh myself for that assessment but it was the same as before.. so no gain or loss.. but as suspected my body percentage is very high for me. However he did say my heart rate and blood pressure where excellent considering my text book obesity. (I seem to get that a lot).. but having the assessment was a good start. I have something to work towards.. we chatted about my fitness goals and when I said one of my goals is to survive the apocalypse he laughed (even though I had a straight face teehee) and I pointed out that I am a fan of horror movies, zombie movies in general and being fit and strong will help with survival.. he then pointed out that was actually not a bad goal and if it adheres to your favourite genre of movies then why not… its motivation. So there you have it.. something to work towards.. so I have an awesome idea for a motivation book to draw up.. based on weight loss, toning up and surviving the end of the world J
The second major thing was the loss of our car.. some idiot ran a stop sign and plowed into the side of our car basically writing it off by the insurance company.. I was so dam pissed off about that.. thankfully the BF is fine and no injury but at the same time.. WTF.. after some negotiating with the insurance company we ended up getting just close to $1400.00 for the car.. (original they were going to offer half of that.. I don’t think so…) anyway.. thankfully the BF’s dad lent us his car as he was away until we can decide what we wanted.. on the weekend we spent time looking at used cars and new cars and assessing our options.. we discussed things for a good day and went over our budget and came to the conclusion that a new car was a better option for us..
So we got a new car.. WOOOOO
picked it up last night.. little Mitsubishi Mirage.. small little putt putt car.. great on gas and perfect for our needs.. maunal, great warranty and features and really not a bad monthly payment (250 a month) over 6 years at 0% finance. The car dealership has a promotion where they pay the first two months of payment and the money we received from the insurance company will pay for the first 5 months of payments. So we are good on our budget until well into next year.. all in all it just worked better for us.. and of course we are excited to get a new car.. never had a new car before.. never one with power windows.. I feel like such a grownup..
I know I wanted to get out of debt but things are looking good on the budget end.. should be able to pay another card off next month and then focusing on the last card and line of credit.. really for the pros of getting a new car it was worth it for us.. we needed a car.. I am not making excuses as I am happy with our purchase and plan..
