When I tell what happened you are most likely going to laugh.
If you have been reading the past posts I posted stuff about my back and how it has been acting up the last couple of weeks (since Easter Sunday).. Well it got worse.. a lot worse. And what made it worse was… a sneeze..
That’s right a sneeze. Just before leaving work last Tuesday I sneezed.. I hurt something pop, my left leg went numb and I had a tingling pain from my neck to my feet. So off to the doctor I went. Thankfully the tingling and numbness went away but it was still hard to walk that day as I felt my legs were about to give way on me.
The doctor suspected that it was a slipped disc in my back. Possible SL joint (the hip) so of course I had been sitting down on the couch up until yesterday. It sucked. Nothing but TV (our internet at home has been down to so even worse).
No movement, no exercise, nothing. Just getting fatter on the couch nursing whatever it was that popped. Its was difficult walking at times, getting up from the couch or even rolling over in bed when sleeping.
Monday (came in for half a day) was the first day back at work and cause I was away for 3 days I have been mega busy catching up. I also have been having physio and he reckons its more my hip then my back. Waiting for a few more test results to come back from the doctors.
Thankfully things now are looking up. I am feeling a lot better. People have been telling me that I am walking a lot better now, things are not hurting as much and I can get out of the bed so much easier now. I am hoping with a few more physio appointments and a doctors appointment next week I will be up to a point where I can start walking again. I had all these plans for the gym and walking/hiking trips and then this. Might not be able to do weights at the gym for a while but I have some exercises written down to help with the strengthening of my back and hips. Make sure this doesn’t happen again.
The only good thing was while I was laid up an made a plan for what I am going to do when I get better (which I will share with you another post)
But it sucked. I could literally feel myself getting fatter on the couch doing nothing except daytime TV. I was actually glad to get back to work as I was so bored at home. Hopefully all will be better soon. Things will get better and i will recover from this experience and move forward with my weight loss. I am more determined more now then ever..
But still.. brought down by a sneeze..
