Yesterday started off to be one of those days I just couldn't do anything right. I woke up more exhausted then when I went to bed. And I don't know why and then I forgot to take my lunch to work. Which resulted in me having to buy my lunch.. BUT I thought about what I would get and got a chicken salad sandwich with a banana. Pretty good.
Then when I got home I realized I didn't take out any meat from the freezer for dinner.. double doh..
I had set myself a goal of going some sort of exercise on Monday Tuesday and Friday. I thought that if I take meat out now go work out in the gym downstairs of my apartment building it will then be ready to cook, or at least give me time to think about what to cook. Then triple doh. I get downstairs and they told me to come back in 30 minutes as there were cleaning the gym area and the equipment. I knew that if I went back upstairs I would not come back down again. So I decided to go for a walk instead.. for an hour.
I am happy with myself at doing that. I decided to walk in a big loop ending up at the local supermarket and pet store. I had to get crickets for my baby anyway (and when I talk about my baby I mean my pet lizard teehee) and since I was at the supermarket I would hunt for any coupons and pick up some meat that wasn't frozen. I also picked up some fresh vegetables.
So yeah an hour (not including time at the supermarket and pet store). And it wasn't just a stroll either. it was a good walk.. I was breaking a pretty good sweat there.
Actually I thought to myself when I first saw the sign at the gym, that if I don't move now you wont. You will have to explain this to yourself and your blog.. How are you going to make an excuse for this one. decided not to make any excuse and keep moving. Its a small step mind you but an important one. I didn't make any excuses for the gym. I couldn't use the gym so I came up with something else. And walking is a pretty good alternative.
Its the small steps that eventually lead to big steps. And it was such a nice walk that tonight I might do the same thing. If the weather holds.. if not the gym it is :)
