A few of the things that popped up early in the summer was a few more tests I needed to do for my permanent resident. Medical tests.. tests that cost money.. Also had my licence renewal in Australia and the BF renewal here in Canada. That cost.
And of course the vacations. During this summer we purchased our ticket for our holiday back home, as well as saving for that trip. We also purchased a crusie next July as well as Wrestlemania tickets for next April.
All and all I think the BF and I spent at least $5 grand on stuff we have nothing to show for. It
will all pay off in the end when we are on holiday but right now it eat into our savings and dare I say, credit card (gulp) particularly the wrestlemania tickets.
So we have had to rearrange our debt repayment plan for the next couple of years. We can still do it but it will have to be even more hard work to ensure it is paid off within reason.
This month in particular has also been pretty expensive for me. I embarked on a goal that I wouldn’t buy any outside food unless it was a pre-planned birthday or celebration of some nature. Little did I remember is that September is the month of many birthdays.. (xmas babies). So many birthdays this month meaning a lot of birthday lunches at work and after work drinks. I had to decline a few invites because I couldn’t attend them all. Then we
had two people quit at work and so “good bye lunches”. Plus the AFL Grand Final (which is the BF’s and mine annual big date). September is just a busy month… sheesh glad I took on this goal otherwise I would be even more broke.
BTW that goal is going pretty well. I haven’t bought my lunch or dinner because I was to lazy to do it. I have on occasion bought a can of coke (mainly for the caffeine to keep me awake at work as I don’t drink coffee) but other than that I have done really well. Even the BF has taken on some traits. He is thinking ahead for lunches and stuff.. so its good.
