My hip/back injury was healing pretty well. Was going to physio, stretching at home, watching my walking and lifting and such and then BAM.. caught a cold.
This cold however seemed to want to help remind me that when this is all over i need to do stuff that will strengthen my back and hips. This cold brought on a cough.. and a bad cough at that.. seemed to be worse at night.
So i coughed and coughed for days on end.. That of course made my back/hip injury feel much worse.. to the point that every time i coughed a shape pain i felt in my spine. One day i had trouble walking. And it wasn't painful. I couldn't seem to will my legs to move and they seems week.
The doctor and physiotherapist both said that with the coughing which caused the body to jolt and tense up the muscles becamse swollen around the nerve and injury putting pressure on it which caused the pain and weakness in my legs.
Great.. just when i thought things were getting better they were getting worse by a dam cough..
There was times i was high on pain meds and cough meds.. not a good combination when you are tired and in pain. Your brain starts to think up some wierd stuff.
But the good news is that i am done with the cold and my back/hip is feeling a lot better. Its now reduced again to an small uncomfortable presssure. Actually i haven't felt this good since before the sneeze. So hopefully things will continue to get better. My pain it to keep resting it until at least start of June. That will give me two more weeks then hopefully i can start walking again. I am also going to look into yoga which will help not only with fitness but with my hip and strenghtening it.
Can't believe it though.. brought down by a sneeze and when down kicked be a cold.. i just can't seem to win. But i am not going to let this bring me down.. back onto it soon.. especially now that the whether is looking better..
